I got this one late in the day. I saw our fine feathered friend here sitting in a tree, enjoying the last rays of light from the sun and I was unsure what type of bird it was. Then he flew right over my head to the far side of the creek I was walking by and I knew then it was a Pileated! I scampered down to the edge of the creek and got the best vantage I could but he was behind a branch. Just as I was about to give up and the sun was about to set, it climbed up where I could see him and I got that shot! Made my day!
