Graviton - God Eater (AUS/USA, 2023)

Rheese Peters’s performance in A Night In Texas’s The God Delusion (2015) helped me get back into deathcore after a brief hiatus. I was thrilled to hear him in Babirusa in 2020 (hopefully more coming there), and Graviton was a welcome surprise discovery the other day.

I listen to a lot of rap and rock and when I heard Shadow of Intent for the first time I fell in love. It was so much more distinct than Rings of Saturn or Thy Art is Murder. To me what makes them special is they’re artists not exclusively interested in the lyrics they put out.

Yeah! Reclaimer really grabbed me when that came out. Ben Duerr can at once demonstrate that he’s one of the best vocalists in deathcore and also not overdo the “look at me” theatrics that can turn people off of the genre

    Anup Sastry - Lion

All of his stuff is good. He programs weird guitar riffs and then drums along to them and ends up with some great music. Most of it’s instrumental, but his most recent album has a bunch of collaborations with vocalists

Ok that’s cool as shit, would satisfy a mean djent hankering. It’s sorta of the opposite of what you’d expect: a guitarist playing with programmed drums
