Corporate investors “buy low and rent high” to populations who can least afford it. A two-year national study, led by Carol Camp Yeakey in Arts & Sciences at Washington University in St. Louis, will examine the impact that corporate investors have on renters, especially marginalized communities of color, in St. Louis, Cincinnati and Atlanta.

    This is good news. Will be great to have solid data to back up what we all know.

    Maybe then we can ban corporations from owning housing.

    The rental market should only be allowed to be owned by non-profit entities. Housing is a human right and an absolute necessity just to even live in our society, especially with so many places making it a crime to be homeless. Having rent prices go up ridiculous amounts year after year for the same damn place is so ridiculous.
