Terrain, terrain… Pull UP… terrain terrain, Pull UP
I AM pulling UP, but this is a Boeing, and every time I aim UP we somehow end up going DOWN!?!?
Sadly this is almost true. The MAX needed the pilot to overcome the extra stick force the MCAS put in to actually pull up.
Which is super weird because the threshold where MCAS would finally give up and let the pilot do some piloting for a change was ridiculously high (if it let go at all which is another fuckup)
But the instructor always said to use soft moves.
Reminds me of that Korean Air flight audio where the second and third knew they were going to crash into the ground, but didn’t want to disrespect the first who was saying the instruments were incorrect.
My Favourite air crash investigation. That was an eye opener on cultural differences.
Definitely. I couldn’t imagine being willing to die in order to not disrespect an elder or embarrass them.
I like to imagine that’s just a REALLY good mountain goat. Like “pfft! No more ground? I’ll just climb up these water vapor crystals into the sky.”
Either they’ve found heaven, or they’re about to find heaven
That picture is hanging in one of my philosophy professors office. She used this image as an introduction to epistemology.
It is obvious to us that there is a mountain there but how are we coming to that conclusion exactly. I.e. What kind of logical assumptions and inferences are we making.
And how can we priorities sources of knowledge. For example what if the instruments of the plane claim there was no mountain.
Unless…
Parachuting furry ?
The goat of wisdom
Tonight in Air Crash Investigation…
They found mountain goat heaven.
Damn, I wonder if it’s anywhere near the time that Austrian pilot decided to go meet the mountain goats :/
