“Here’s the ceasefire deal. You cease firing, we kill you.” – Netanyahu

He needs a forever war to maintain his dictatorship. When he’s done with Palestine, he will move on to Lebanon and Syria and Iran.

Pretty much. The whole peace process is just a way to string it out longer, as far as he’s concerned.

If he goes for Lebanon and the US doesn’t stop him, Iran probably should just go for broke, strategically speaking. There’s no way it stops there.

So, basically, Netanyahu will only accept a deal that results in Palestine’s total destruction. That’s worse than useless.

It’s like we’re dealing with Putin all over again but this time we’re somehow being told we should send him money and weapons instead of massive trade restrictions and immediate arrest for war crimes.

Always has been at least since early 20th century.

Israelis are bad faith actors and the west allowed them to execute this genocide with a blank check political cover.

Never again except this one more time for the Jews!

Many people happily subscribe to “an eye for an eye” without knowing there’s more after that bit (“leaves the whole world blind”).

Oh you got genocided? Then you get one too, but just one.

I said in a thread ages ago “you’d think they’d know better” but some wise person pointed out that it’s a “cycle of violence” and not a “gently sloping ramp to peace”.

I think the best analogy of the Israeli/Palestinian conflict I heard was two sides trying to negotiate over a bag of chips while one side keeps eating more chips.

Looks like Bibi is still hungry.

The deal, he said, must also prohibit weapons smuggling to Hamas via the Gaza-Egypt border and should not allow for thousands of armed militants to return to northern Gaza.

They call everyone from Gaza a member of Hamas…

And I can’t imagine the “armed” is the important part, like as long as you don’t have a gun you can’t come in.

Even then, it’ll come dangerously close to completely elimating guns in Gaza, and considering how often they get invaded, that’s a pretty big deal…

When they say “militants,” they mean refugees. When they say “armed,” they mean have limbs. Can’t let those armed militants have human rights!

Tangential note: this is another reason why Biden must step down. He’s dragging the youth vote down in lieu of his association with Israel.

He should have started stepping down two years ago. Every day he waits makes trumps win easier
