The basic biology crowd loves to talk about basic biology while ignoring the existence of hermaphrodites and banning the teaching of evolution in schools.

Does anyone actually have a problem with hermaphs though? I live in, essentially, Trump-city, and I’ve heard people actually distinctly separate hermaphrodites from their hatred because it’s how they were born, and there are physical characteristics. Maybe because hermaph as a subject matter existed much earlier in history? Or is it because they find it hard to grasp things they can’t see? But they believe in God…

NONE OF IT MAKES ANY SENSE!

My main point was that basic biology isn’t just as simple as, “two genders hur dur”, so there is no reason to think the most intelligent and sophisticated beings we are aware of are any simpler. Agree with everything you said nonetheless.

They usually don’t. They go to church and own bibles and all because that’s what “good” people do. But by and large they don’t think there’s an invisible, omnipotent being controlling everything. If there was why would you have to pull yourself up by your bootstraps? And why would a grand cabal of Democrats be able to control everything?

There’s exceptions but I really doubt a very large portion actually believe. It’s why they get so upset over alternative behaviors. Someone isn’t following the “rules” so they should be punished.

I feel like people are confusing born gender and gender role. You can’t change the former but you can the latter.

Usually people would say biological sex is different from gender.

I.e. I can be born sex female and then identify as the male gender.

My sex doesn’t change (I can’t alter my DNA) but the presentation of my gender does.

You can change your sex in many cases, because it is not determined by your chromosomes like some people believe. There are other factors. Most trans people are biologically speaking intersex once they start HRT and stay that way their whole life.

Some people are also born intersex even though it is not the chromosomes which are “wrong”. Of course there are also other combinations of chromosomes than just the 2 most people are familar with heard of.

The whole discussion is bogus and should be left to the experts. For everyday use the biological sex is completely irrelevant and many people might not even be aware that they don’t neatly into one of the assumed binary pockets.

That’s because they’re so old that when they were taught what gender was, gender DID refer to a persons sex. That was its original definition. They just haven’t updated their 100 year old websters that some door-to-door huckster sold them ages ago.

Advanced biology: Allow me to introduce myself.

Context for those who genuinely don’t know: Transgender, nonbinary gender, and gender dysphoria are all accounted for in our most up to date understanding of biology.

Most conservatives cant pass advanced biology, advanced economics, sociology, political science, thats why all their arguments sound like they came from 5th graders.

    I agree with this meme.

Basic biology is basic for a reason: to teach children. Yeah, the only two combinations of sex chromosomes are XX and XY and gender doesn’t exist because we just assign groups based on the most common phenotypes. This works very well until it doesn’t.

The next part of the meme should be:

In practise there isn’t even that solid of a connection between XX/XY and their respective associated expressions.

Cell development is highly influenced by the hormones that are present. This is especially true for sex-related cell development. This is why intersex people exist. Your genetic code just provides a bias for specific hormone production, which turns into a self-regulating loop once your cells develop into organs which produce more of their respective hormones. This is also the reason HRT is an uphill battle, and some trans people choose to have their ovaries or testicles removed.

Even biologically, the concept of biological sex makes no sense.

I like how transphobes keep calling themselves out with this. Their smooth brains are capable of understanding only the basic biology they were taught in preschool, anything past that is too scary.
