“Just?” That seems like a lot, considering.
I agree with what you’re saying but for a Star Wars games that’s crazy low
I don’t think so. It was cheaper to get it through the Ubi+ and it’s not on Steam. Also, it’s a very mid looking game.
Edit: that is to say, I think it will get better numbers over time, through widening the market and sales. Not great, financially, but the numbers will be SW worthy someday.
Estimates have put the game’s budget at upwards of $250 million, so they’d need to sell at least 5 times as many copies to even break even. Games (from traditional studios, anyway) are crazy expensive now.
That’s insane for how many bugs it has. What are they spending this money on? It’s clearly not development time
Marketing probably
K
It’s not on steam, also if you’re going to ask me to pay 90 dollars for a mediocre game you can kindly fuck off.
I’ve been waiting for the price to come down a bit, and because I’ve learned my lesson to always wait a while before buying any Star Wars game.
But I’ll definitely buy it eventually, just like I eventually buy every Star Wars game. Wonder if more people are learning the same lessons as me?
they do c/patientgamers@sh.itjust.works
Thanks, I wasn’t subbed to that instance’s version of the community.
It’s such a boring game. I’m stupid for hoping it would be fun
No you’re not. You’re allowed to hope for something and be let down it’s on them to do better especially since they can and have the resources to do so but choose not to.
That’s quite a lot honestly
at $70 a game, that’s $70 million dollars in revenue!
But I think the rumor mill has the games budget around 250m dollars.
Their break even point is 5.5 million units sold. Maybe when they release on steam
Disney’s milking made the licence really unappealing and Ubisoft’s open worlds were unappealing even back when they had some quality control and graphics had to look good. Now it’s just smear this unplausible cutesy mammal sidekick with some temporal antialiasing and also no one on our team knows how to make enemies exhibit any behavior. Fucking die, Ubisoft. I told you in 2012. when you made uplay it would end like this.
I just got it on sale ($15 off on Uplay) and I gotta say I’m rather confused why it isn’t more popular. It’s not perfect, and combat is a little simple, but it’s exceptionally well written, the mini games are legit fun, and the world feels really fleshed out and authentic and the music is outstanding. The main theme sounds like a modern take on Williams it’s crazy good.
Tbh I haven’t even noticed the “AI” generated stuff it’s no different than procedurally generated content if not even more well weaved in the game. I dunno it’s just fun for me. Just change the settings to all hard and disable the assists and suggestions.
You got it on sale so of course you’ll be less critical about how unfinished it is.
If folks want to sell lots of copies, why do they keep making shit games? It’s such an easy problem to identify.
