The “We, Robot” event was peak 2020s Tesla: A long wait, few specifics, tons of promises for a bright future. But for whom?
Who’s of hands, who was surprised by this?
Edit: what the fuck did autocorrect mangle to come up with “who’s of hands?”
I am happy you left it this way.
I recall now, I attempted to type “show of hands.”
Autocorrect gore is fascinating, no?
What I don’t get about Tesla is: when will they ever update their existing vehicles, like every other car company does? The Model S has been around for over ten years. Aren’t they planning an S2? Or this all the RnD they have?

I had to check Wikipedia to be sure. OK, the S got updated motors or restyled taillights, but they’re all externally indistinguishable for the non Tesla nerd. Look at how the Corvette and Mustang changed over the years, or the F-Series trucks. They went with the zeitgeist, and the S is still visually stuck in 2012.

Fave lift, new wheels, different lights front and heck. Front spoiler, side profile, larger back wing, different mirrors, windshield angle is flatter, heck has a very different form.
And that’s just what I took from a quick look at this grainy picture.
Model 3 had a big refresh this year (2024).
They’ve completely re-engineered most of these vehicles, multiple times. As well as constant iterative updates. There’s just no good reason to re-engineer them from the bottom up. Other than the general shape, there’s basically nothing the original and current Model S have in common.
Considering Elon’s current politics, the successor of the model S will be the model SS.
You mean like VW and the Golf 2? Just because it’s the same name, doesn’t mean it’s the same car.
He can drive tRump around in this crap
He probably literally can’t, since it’s basically just a big RC car on an extremely tightly controlled loop.
