Good morning, friends. 🌸🌸

When I arrived in the Twin cities in January of 1992, I arrived in a 1986 Toyota Celica that I had purchased tax free while in Germany. I had United States forces Europe plates on the car, so it had to be registered in Minnestoa. When I went to register the car, I discovered that in order to do that, I first had to pay sales tax on the amount that I paid for the car brand new 5 years before. That is a thing that most states do, if you show up with a car that you were able to purchase tax free, either overseas or in another state. It is a big let down from the time that you had the tax-free benefit. C’est La Vie.
