      Especially those giant shrooms are interesting - it this just a mushroom for scale and a quite tiny elephant?

      Would really like to know the idea/vision of the painter, because most of them just don’t make much sense

      Might be an African/Indian elephant thing. The Indian elephants’ smaller ears may make them less noteworthy to the teller of this story… assuming they were a primary source themselves.
