Second rule of consumer grade Printers: Never buy a multi-function (printer plus anything else) printer.

Third rule of consumer grade printers: Never buy an inkjet printer.

These three rules solve 95% of consumer printer issues.

Hewlett-Packard is just a Brother advertising campaign that got wildly out of hand.

I’ve had the best luck with Brother laser printers. For scanning, I highly recommend NAPS2. It’s free, and so much better than the vendor software that comes with the scanners I’ve used.
