On the eastern coast of the Black Sea is the Georgian region of Abkhazia, or the independent Republic of Abkhazia, depending on who you ask - Abkhazia has been recognised as an independent state by Russia, Venezuela, Nicaragua, Nauru, and Syria; however, Georgia and most of the UN consider Abkhazia a sovereign territory of Georgia.

fuck russia.
Please do not bring your hatred of a few against a whole population. That type of hatred is against Reddthat’s rules.
Please refrain from future comments like that.
Hey, Mr. Moderator. Let me elaborate.
I lived in Gagra, Abkhasia, as a kid in ~1989-1991. Part of my family fled from Kyiv, Ukraine, due to the Chornobyl catastrophe (fuck russia here also), and eventually, we found ourselves in Gagra. I saw these pictures when they were alive. The place was marvelous. I still dream of those forests full of fireflies that I have never seen again anywhere I’ve been.
Do you know what came next in 1992? russia came to “free” Abkhasia. “Divide and conquer”, they say. Bit by bit. This is what came next for Abkhasia. A disaster. An abandoned region just to take it from Georgia.
Do you know what came next in 2008? Right. russia came to “free” Georgia.
Fast forward to 2014 - russia invaded Ukraine.
You can envelop all this in some sort of moral choice of yours to separate the country from people, blame governments or their heads, I just choose to donate money to burn the fuckers and say fuck russia.
Make your choice, Mr. Moderator.
Hello,
Please see the rules of reddthat here: https://reddthat.com/post/9701
No racism or other discrimination No endorsement of hate speech
As such you have broken our rules, specifically being racist. You have remained civil and I thank-you for that. Normally I would have banned the account in question by now, but have decided not too unless others end up reporting your comments, but I see that as unlikely as this has become a worthwhile discussion.
What has your post in the community abandonedporn got to do with this? Nothing. This is an offtopic conversation which you started off with zero context. And text with zero context can be read with a myriad of inflections even when the best intentions are meant.
If you started off saying you knew the area, or lived down the road, that may have some credibility and then tied into your current feelings about the issue then we wouldn’t have had a problem if you said it in a way that acknowledged it was your own opinion. Like how you have now is amazing, I wish all comments were as thoughtful as this. But you chose to originally post in a community that has next to nothing to do with Russia to voice your opinion on your dislike.Hatred towards any country is not welcome on Reddthat. I understand your feelings and they are worth while.
I look forward to seeing you in a different community, maybe a political community to have a discussion.
Thankyou
Reddthat Admin Team
Being an experienced community head myself, I totally agree with you in every word. I appreciate you understand me also. <3
Respect
Слава Україні, but this isn’t anything to do with Putin’s war on your country.
Or is it? Please, see my comment below, or consult with Wikipedia.
I was thinking that I associate green on flags with the middle east, and then I read:
the green and white stripes represent the tolerance that allows Christianity and Islam to coexist
What a gorgeous building. Seeing it in this condition is heartbreaking.
Which city is this?
I had to do more research, but it’s Gagra (according to https://prohorov.livejournal.com/434028.html via Google Translate). I don’t think all of the extra photos are of the train station there, but I think they’re all in Gagra [edit: I edited the post with more info].
