I don’t understand the joke itself (is this what is called Dragon Ball?), but can see this is a delicate, carefully-done work. Although a few “M”s look somewhat (very slightly) awkward, mostly everything looks so natural.
When a work is really great, sometimes it looks so natural and normal that people don’t appreciate its greatness :)
thanks for the compliment! I did put some effort into this one. it is an old image and there isn’t much of a joke. At the time litecoin people were doing a lot of Vegeta memes just because they said LTC is the sidekick of BTC in the same way Vegeta is the sidekick of Goku and they were criticizing XMR as being only for “bad guys”. it was my try to claim Magin Vegeta, Magin Buu and the rest of M characters as mascots for monero, while embracing the bad-guys stuff. It didn’t catch on much, but that doesn’t matter because now we have Monerochan which is a much better mascot
I see. I especially like the subtlety of the M in the Sun. The M on the blue object is also so nice and natural that the letter looks as if it was always there. The M on the second guy (from center to right): I find nothing obviously wrong, but this M somehow feels slightly awkward (maybe just me).
Yeah, we have Monero-chan :) It’d be great if you did Monero-chan too someday. I saw your newer post too, with two ladies. Keep up the great work!
PS: You may want to consider using an external image hosting service so that one can view your original image losslessly without lossy webp compression (and also to save on server-storage of monero.town). Privacy-wise, though, having files on monero.town seems better…
thanks for that advice, I just started using the external image hosting as you said and it works fine. Nowadays AI models like this https://civitai.com/models/23982/monerochan already produce monerochans that are so good, that we mere humans are better off thinking of funny memes IMHO
