My father loves to garden and can grow just about anything. He’s in his 70’s so he can’t grow anything drastically labor intensive but he has every type of gardening equipment under the sun. He usually grows a half a dozen herbs, 5 or 6 varieties of lettuce, at least a dozen types of of peppers and usually around 7 or 8 tomato varieties. He also grows squash, cucumbers, onions, leeks, eggplant, beans, okra, and garlic. He’s also grown flowers, watermelon, berries, and fruit trees in the past but he isn’t really as into that as he is vegetables.
He likes to grow his plants from seed, usually starting around December or January, using an elaborate at home set up he has in my parents’ garage.
I thought it would be a good stocking stuffer to get him some rare or interesting varieties of seeds to grow this year. I read online about tomato seeds that were sent to outer space and thought he would love to plant those just to be able to say he grew them, but they don’t appear to be for sale online anywhere.
I think I’m going to get him some Turkish orange eggplant seeds as they’re pretty unique but I’d like to get him a few more types of seeds as well. Any suggestions? Thank you in advance!
Giggity always = up vote.
I don’t know any cool varieties myself, good luck in your search, btw.
