Remember back the day when the Friday newspaper would come out and you could see all the movies playing in a handy dandy chart all on one page?

Remember newspapers? Sure, there are websites that will show chain theaters, but between chains and independent theaters, there are over FIFTY in the Portland Metro Area alone and I haven’t been able to find a single source that lists all of them (NOT EVEN GOOGLE!)

So went through and made a clickable list. Looking for something to see? Check out what’s local to you! Independent theaters listed first, chains after that, sorted by city.

If this is something people want, I could totally take this very nice list and scrape the sites for a single listing of showtimes.

That would be cool! I was thinking about something like a “New Movie Friday” post on Thursdays.

Not sure how to do it though, a lot of the indie theaters don’t seem to have good updates and I’m pretty sure an API is out of their reach.

This week the big new release is something called Night Swim, Blumhouse horror movie:

Joy cinema is quite a nice time. It’s got sticky floors, squeaky chairs, and I think just a single screen. Pretty charming old school theater for those of us on the west side.

        McMenamins Bagdad.

Oh interesting. I didn’t see they had a theater. Most likely, that would be more like the Alamo. I will go check it out.
