Why, this is shocking! I wonder why this keeps happening… At least GM built these (and cheap Bolts) for a minute, most car makers just promise an entry level trim and cancel it before production. This may have to do with GM eschewing its last generation battery technology (also likely what’s killing the Bolt).
I did indeed miss it, thank you. That’s good news even if the new battery platform raises prices slightly. I thought killing it was a rather ponderous decision, anecdotally, I see car carriers full of them regularly.
I daily drive a Bolt and absolutely love it. It’s the most practical commuting and errand running car on the market IMO. Fantastic efficiency and so spacious for it’s size.
I hope the new battery platform means it gets faster DCFC. The 50 kW limit is very limiting for road trips much longer than the a full battery’s distance.

ICYMI, Chevy decided not to kill the Bolt. https://www.npr.org/2023/07/27/1190569344/chevy-bolt-electric-vehicle-gm-ev

“The price and release date for the new version have not been disclosed”
I’m gonna hold my excitement until they give more details. Reintroducing at a much higher price point, or in 4 years, is not going to be good enough.
