    All you really need to know is that if you scratch a cat’s behind and it rises—or if they randomly present their behinds to you—if they stare at you while relieving themselves in the litter box, or if they rub up on your legs, they are essentially showing you what they consider ‘affection’.

    If these behavioral traits aren’t present, they either don’t like you or you don’t make them feel safe.
