I was thinking that, too. I listened to Maddow’s Ultra recently, and the episode about the criminal trial with all of defendants came to mind when I heard Willis’ plan to try them together.

There’s also the thing where a lot of these people will shoot their mouths off to make it seem like they’re more important than they are. She may have been blowing the horn louder than a lot of people (back when she thought that being seen as involved in the plot was a feather in her cap), but not as important to the actual planning; so the information that she could give on the real plotters was more important than putting her away for a good long while.
