    It’s a better way of logging in to things, makes it a lot harder for someone to steal your account. And also let’s you log in by scanning a qr code rather than having to type out a password via a controller

    – edit don’t try this with 1password, their passkey support is really poor. stick to other implementations of passkey (like chrome/android, apple)

        you don’t give away any biological information, that’s not how it works at all.

        This might go over your head, but it’s based on a public/private key system, your device has the private key, gives playstation a public key. your device can (but does not have to) use bio authentication to unlock the private key when you want to login.

        Face ID/Touch ID data is stored in the Secure Enclave, disconnected from the internet and even the rest of the phone. All the phone sees from the scan is a pass/fail
