Have you tried the “turn all your clothes hangers around so they hang backwards, then get rid of anything that’s still wrong ways around after X time” trick?

Yeah, me, too. I just ended up with wonky hangers and an attachment to the stuff I never wore because I kept checking the hangers and seeing it.

Declutter your life. You don’t need that many clothes. It’s a symptom of over consumption.

The second issue I run into is attachment. I literally did this and have a bag of clothes sitting in my closet taking up space because of this lol

Yea best part is a 5 minute trip to the local donation center would free up your space. But now you have to go through it again incase you are throwing out something you really want

I didn’t expect to get called out this hard today

I’ve got 4 boxes chilling ready to go, it’s 5 minutes to the donation center, and I’ve sorted through them a few times since the new year.

It’s books I’ve read (or bought and never got to) and clothes that don’t fit

I’ll get to it… This week?

That sounds about right, haha! I’ve done the same, and then found myself in the attic trying to draw more Ethernet.

I’m guessing the logic involved not being able to ignore it once it’s all in the middle of the floor?

Been there my friend. I still use the same tactic anyway.

    I feel your pain.

Maybe I should try get on top of my closet again.

If I move some stuff down and some others onto the shelf… I’ll be able to clear some space and make it easier to get to things I use more often…

I always think if I put some of the loose items into storage containers, I will have less clutter. But somehow, the more I rearrange stuff, the more space it occupies, and unless I label the containers immediately, I forget what’s in them. (This happens even with clear containers, because I can only see like… one item through the side).

Ahahaha relatable. I’ve learned that it’s best to only take out one thing at a time, because I never manage to finish a full clean-out. (I have a lot of health issues that make huge projects an issue). Taking out one thing to get rid of or put where it belongs (a lot of stuff in my closet should be somewhere else) results in limited mess even if I immediately dump the item on the bed and forget I was working on the closet.
