Hey folks, I’m not sure why but I’m suddenly in the mood for exaggerated mental disputes, the kind of “hah, you’ve fallen for my trap, as I’ve predicted your moves 24 steps ago” and “oh, but actually, I knew that and YOU have fallen for my trap” dispute.

It can be cheesy or over the top, like in Death Note, or more serious and actually plausible, like on Liar Game, I’m just craving more of that.

Thanks!

It could depend on your liking, but in a general sense my mind goes to Kakegurui, Durarara or Bungou stray dogs.

I would honestly recommend sports anime like Haikyuu or Prince of Tennis for this kind of thing. Sports anime always lean really hard into the mental game and you’ll have whole scenes playing out in freeze frame or slow-mo while characters painstakingly walk through their plans. I’m a sucker for that kind of thing

Jojo’s Bizzare Adventure parts 2 and 3. Unlike in later parts, there are no healers, so the main characters have to outsmart their adversaries while also staying healthy enough to continue their journeys.

I’d suggest “No Game No Life”, but it is a controversial title (especially about its fan service), so I also advise caution.

Weirdly enough, I had this thought when I was watching Dr. Stone. It’s more the over the top type because it’s so improbable that they’d come to the same conclusions.
