My moms rich friend gifted me some open baffle speakers (two fast-8 and two visaton bg17), and I am (almost) completely new to everything acoustics. I’ve done some surface level research

I’ve got some experience in Astrophotography and I know there are some similarities between cameras and microphones, and that’s acoustics right?? I also do music in high school currently.

Some questions: (some of these may be googlable but reading something someone wrote hastily tickles my brain better than some Wikipedia article)

What are some good communities to learn more? Maybe a discord server?

What’s a driver, and what does it do?

How do speakers make sound, and what does the board/box in an open/box design do specifically? Is it like putting a tuning fork in a box?

What material for a board? And what is this board called (if there’s a better term)? Also, what shape and size? Mr rich dude said he may be able to get me a premade “board” when he goes to China.

Sorry if this isn’t the right place to ask, looking to get pointed to the right direction

THANK YOU
