I am looking to build my first PC for gaming and occasional work in November around Black Friday/Cyber Monday to hopefully save some money and score deals on parts. Originally I was gonna build around a 13900K cpu + 4090 graphics card, but recently became aware that the 14th gen will be out by the time I wanted to start building. So, I have a predicament between choosing the 13th or 14th gen and here are my current thoughts on the decision:

On one hand, I think it would make more sense to just get a 14th gen cpu since I’m starting from nothing anyway and the price of the 14th is (presumably) similar to the price that the 13th is now so I will have paid around the same.

On the other hand, I could stick to my original plan since the price of the 13th could drop so I have the potential to save even more money. Also, if I go with the 13th I think it would be an easier justification to upgrade to the 15th from a 13th next year if I wanted to.
