Twice I have been hiking the jurat or other mountains and come across people having fires outside of any designated camp fire areas but rather just in the trees. Yesterday I was near Le Chalet-À-Gobet and came across a still smoldering/smoking campfire that had clearly been left smoking overnight, and doused it in water as it was starting to light up again.

Does anybody know if there are federal or cantonal rules around fires in nature preserves or hiking areas, and where do I find them? I like our forests and want to keep them whole.
