I’m an American but my family immigrated from Finland in the 1800s. The family name was Ahonen but mine is different after a couple generations.

I want to get a tattoo says “Tough and Competent” in Finnish. Can someone help me with a translation?

I’m not about to trust google translate for a tattoo. I know I should pay a translator and that’s next if posting here doesn’t work.

The main reason is to honor my great-grandfather, the last man in my family named Ahonen. He was a WW2 veteran and flew a bomber over North Africa. The inspiration for those specific words is the Kranz Dictum because he also loved spaceflight.

Thank you to anyone that can help.
