I hate this new trend of using seemingly smarter words and accusations to make the other party feel shit for no reason.
You correct someone and add extra information that’s relevant to the topic? Someone will call you out for “whataboutism”.
Make a simple mistake? Immediately get called out for disinformation.
Don’t know what the fuck everyone is talking about, so you ask? Nah, you’re definitely just trolling and baiting.
Today I went to a chat of a certain group to tell them about a community they can use if they want. Answer? “Don’t promote yourself.”
And the latest pearl. Dare to send someone a message? That’s spam.
Fuck this shit. I’ve long had a policy that if, during a debate, you start making fun of my grammar or pull out some comment of mine from 3 years ago, the debate is over, because I’m not getting pulled down that hole. You’re obviously not interested in a debate, just to make yourself feel good.
This is the same. You pull one of these, you’re blocked and we’re done. You can go accuse someone else of whatever paranoid construct is in your head.
And btw these aren’t even examples from some political discussions or something else serious where someone could be more on guard, just totally normal things like discussing retro consoles and similar trivial stuff.
It’s fucking annoying. I hate being accused of shit I didn’t do in real life, and I’m not handling it well online either.
Btw: Nice community you’ve got here.
I think when people correct spelling or micromoderate it is legitimately a kink thing.
That would explain a lot.
