There was a post with a ton of people complaining about blocking the Golden Gate Bridge. Let me guess … you have a problem with “disruptive” (read: effective) protests.

I do not have an issue with that and neither of us is talking about that. What are you on about?

You’re just swinging wildly at anybody who responds to you

Not really a personal attack, if that’s not your take … cool! Just pointing out the heat I’ve seen over protests, and the hypocrisy of complaining that leftists don’t do anything. Leftists do participate in public politics, but people largely complain when we do.

I do agree that people complain incessantly when protests happen and they hide behind the shield of “how the protest is done“ to avoid admitting they just don’t want to address what the protest is about or think it isn’t a problem. I’m glad we agree. But I do encourage you to maybe ask people what they think before assigning their ideas to them.

Disruptive protests are not effective unless you have an actual majority of the population backing them, otherwise they’re actively counterproductive. Politics is optics. If it makes you look bad to the average voter, it won’t work.

You want visibility, not disruption. Annoyed people are nearly impossible to convince, they won’t listen to you, they just want you to go away. Even if they are people who would agree with you if you managed to get them to listen.
