Just a general thread about running. How’s your running going? What are you training for? Did you get new shoes? Sporting an injury etc…

Ran 24:44 at this morning’s Parkrun which is a PB for me this year. Still a fair way off my best times from last year but I’m slowly getting back to that level. I have been really slack with training for the last fortnight (zero runs outside of Parkrun) so it feels good to still be making small gains. I think my legs have probably appreciated the additional rest, too.

I had back surgery Nov 29 last year. Surgeon told me I’d never run again. This morning I ran a 29.35 at ParkRun. Never give up.

5k race tommorow. I bit stressed because i didn’t train for this year race. I was focusing on long distances in the last 6 month and found the race one week ago. I’m aiming for 22:30min

      Good luck!

Cool thing about 5Ks is that you can do one now and another one 2 weeks later.

Still worth investing in a good 5K season though (I e. you do a lot more sprint intervals and threshold runs). I prefer long distances but spent the past 5 months or so solely focused on improving my 5K times and it’s making me a much better runner, including for long distances.

Trying to get back in shape after about 10 years, 2 kids, and 80 pounds. Trying to get to 1.5 miles without walking, but I live on a hilly stretch of road.
