As someone who owns the cheapest version of the game witch was still 60 USD I believe and was told be friends that EOD edition was not pay to win but pay for convince this is disgusting.

Edit: said friend is still defending this somehow…

Sorry for necroposting but as someone who bought it I’ve got to say, EOD is absolutely p2w, if only because of the gamma secure container (lvl 4 stash right from the beginning is also a pretty big deal because you can hoard so much more shit before you reach level 15). “Pay for convenience” is pure copium.

It is a point of discussion in a extraction game in which it is all or nothing, to have storage which guarantees you to extract with items in the first place.

But I can understand the decision from a “it is still a game and that could be just too frustrating” point of view. But to sell extra spaces for rl-money is just ridiculous.

It may not be “pay to win” as you can still lose in a gunfight etc. But it is sure as hell “pay to have unfair advantage”.

And I think the rhetoric should shift to criticizing that in games. Because publishers can “win” an argument on that technicality.

Every time I play with a friend who has the EOD edition and she gets to take more back to base then me after dying, I get a little frustrated.
