Every single headline about this aid distribution should just read “US still somehow taking orders from nation that only exists because of their support.”

The idea that Isreal can block the US from just driving aid over the border is insane. The idea that Isreal can dictate any terms to the US is insane. If the US actually pulled all support, Isreal would be fucked, and they know it. But the US government keeps throwing up its hands and acting like Isreal has them over a barrel.

It’s funny because jesus never even said that but people always do anything to be part of prophecies. Idk if they read their books but the end of the times they are trying to be a part of isn’t really a pleasant period to be in.

Allies like Qatar and Saudi Arabia? … But even if there were no US allies in the region, then what?

So if the Israelis block the aid their weapons packages should also be blocked, right? Not that the US should’ve given them in the first place, but if they’re not gonna let humanitarian aid in, then I guess we should just give the bombs to Palestine

Lets repeat this a few hundred more times. A clock and a gold fish are going to have a better trading records than you can ever hope for.

Any country the US sets up a pier near, will have no choice but to deal with the local government. In no universe, will that not be the case.

If not, that pier is Israeli territory! They can land troops there and just say, Thank you!. And there is not much the US could do.

So cooperation with Israel is key to making this precedent work. Might be quite the show watching the US try to do humble

You’re drunk right? You do realize all of Israel’s Conor McGregor-esque arm swinging is due to US support, right?

“There is not much the US could do.” … I can think of several things the US could easily do that would screw over the Israeli military quickly enough. You can too, so I’m confused why you wrote this.

This article doesn’t say “but distribution blocked” anywhere, that is OP’s invention. They only started receiving shipments today. The article quotes a “US aid chief” as saying other land crossings and humanitarian corridors are still needed in addition to this pier.

It isn’t “OP’s invention” at all, it’s the article’s title at the time of first publication. Here is the Guardian announcing the article under its original title.

Maybe spend 5 seconds on a basic search before you accuse people of stuff.

Given that the article says the aid will still have to go through an Israeli checkpoint in order to be sent north (where the worst famine is) I will be amazed if the small amount of aid scheduled to come through this pier doesn’t suffer the same distribution blockages as other aid.

The Associated Press, however, quoted an unnamed UN official as saying distribution of the shipment had not begun as of Friday afternoon.

The Guardian changes titles more frequently than you change underwear.

No problem. Dump them into Libyan slave markets.

This will free up the pier for more able bodied workers, err i mean, refugees.

Think about beauty of it. The Barbary Pirates of North Africa were targeting US trade during Thomas Jefferson term in office. Forcing the formation of the US Navy.

The US can get back to being ol’ friends with them.

And come back history wise full circle
