The VPS provider I’ve been using to host keeb.lol is shutting down. I’m not surprised, but also am not prepared to migrate. They haven’t given me a timeline on when they’re actually cutting power, so hopefully I’ve got enough time to figure shit out.
Not sure what the requirements are for Lemmy but I’ve used Kimsufi and SoYouStart’s dedicated servers for hosting Minecraft. They’re older CPUs but you can get a lot more RAM than a VPS of a similar price. For more lightweight stuff I’ve used Digitalocean VPSes but there are lots of other providers.
Current box is 1vCPU, 2GB RAM, 4TB bandwidth for $45/year. With how low traffic this instance is, that’s been more than enough resources. I’m sure pretty much any cheap host will suffice, I just gotta set aside time to figure out how to backup the lemmy data and get it transferred over.
