Consensus is Trump didn’t so much as beat Biden as Biden beat himself.
The real loser is CNN who failed to fact check anyone, and there were obvious fact checks on both sides.
So, does this mean we’ll have an even larger conservative SCOTUS majority?
If you let a torrent of bullshit versus a guy with a cold make you stay home and not vote, yes.
I vote for policy, not a person. I have zero in common with Trump and the Republican Party, so I’ll be out there voting for the Democratic policy platform every time.
Unlikely, it will just lock in the 6-3 majority for longer.
Trump will convince Thomas and Alito to step down, will nominate younger arch-Conservatives in their place, and we’ll have 6-3 until it’s time to replace Roberts and Sotomayor.
Thomas and Alito retire and suddenly go on incredible vacations.
Probably looking at 20 years or so. Or more than a lifetime for some. Pretty depressing.
Roberts and Sotomayor are 69 and 70 respectively, so most likely whoever gets the win in '32 will replace one or both of them. Definitely by '36.
