Does anyone have an explanation for why Millennials would consume the most physical press out of all the demographics?

Just a guess, but I assume magazines are part of physical press. I know a lot of millenials (according to this definition of millenial) who buy magazines for their interests, be it music, games, geology, astronomy or history. A lot of times it overlaps with having been in tertiary education and I assume Gen Z would show similar statistics if you asked someone who was pursuing a masters degree or a doctorate.

I think this chart is %change from before covid to after covid. This chart doesn’t say they are consuming most physical but they have increased the amount of physical media since covid. But then why no negative percentages?

      Maybe I’m confused 😕

It is the percentage of people that have started (or increased) consuming that type of content. So 19% of millennials started consuming (more) physical media. It says nothing about the millennials that stopped or consume less or the same as they did before.

Thanks i understand now. These graphs could definitely be a little more clear.

Edit: i actually looked again, and it does explain what its showing, i just think i and others have already glanced past the writing after all the other information at the very top.

      Elder millenial,

I like physical books as a way to disengage with with the digital, which I am almost always using otherwise in some form or fashion . Maybe that’s it?

I hate how the millenial listens to podcasts the most. They better be good ones!

“Hi my sexy true crime weirdos…”

but preferably a solid podcast that begins:

        “I’m Kitboga…”

Hmm, would be nice to see this as a measure of change, or does it show that and I’m just not reading it right?

Line charts are boring, but would show what you would like to see.

I’m amazed gen z is watching any amount of broadcast tv at all. I’m a millennial and my tv hasn’t been hooked up to an aerial since 2009.

Lul, boomers got the most empty heads (in sense of the charts total surface).

    That feels kinda right tho.

As a millennial, I enjoy the scaling of this data visualization, which implies the consumption of more varied media formats alone results in a less empty head.
