Anyone care to share how allocations work for the electrified Sportages?

I ordered one of each through a buddy who is a sales manager at a local dealership but it doesn’t look like they’ve gotten any yet. Meanwhile, a few other dealers have at least had trickles of allocations come through.

Did I order through the wrong dealership? I know the ‘orders’ aren’t actual orders, just assignments when allocations come through.

Also, anyone have a allocation tracker I can follow?

Depends on where you are. Here in Toronto, it’s awful; I “ordered” an HEV SX last May. Still don’t have a car.

Mid West US. What sucks the most is there are tons of LX and EX Sportages sitting on lots unwanted. But Kia just isn’t shipping out many Prestige Versions.

With gas prices being that volatile, people are looking at hybrids and plugin hybrids more and more (if you’re still not comfortable going full electric). Add the shortages to the mix, and yeah.

It’s not even that they’re hybrids though. There’s 40 Sportage HEV/PHEVs available in 25 miles around me. Only 3 are Prestige trim and they’re all shipping/spoken for. The other 37 are lower trims just sitting on the lot and have been all month.

Autotrader gives me only 4 Hybrids, 250km around Toronto, and they’re all lower trims, so yeah, it’s even worse up here.
