from using it as classic laptop at any opening angle, to a space-saving touch display with finger or pen control (not included), to a large Linux tablet

    So it’s a laptop, a tablet, and a tablet?

The price seems a bit high for an i5 and 6 hours of battery life, but I haven’t been in the market for a laptop for a while, so idk how that compares to other laptops.

I think €1,200 is somewhat reasonable considering the device overall. But yes, for a regular laptop with an i5, 16GB RAM and 500 GB SSD, the price would definitely be high.

500GB SSD and 16GB RAM DDR4 costs them less than 90€ combined. The i5 13 certainly is expensive but the overall price seems very inflated, considering there are no costs for Microsoft windows or office either

i suspect the high price is at least partially due to the low volume of production, economics of scale and all that…

I’m not an expert but this shouldn’t cost more than 1000 € given the specs. I imagine they’re using hardware sales to fund Tuxedo OS development.

    My question is this:

I run Manjaro KDE on a former ChromeOS Asus Flip C433

Visually, it basically looks exactly like this and works fine (with some caveats). It even flips and flops the way it should when converting to tablet mode.

    But…

I have yet to find an on screen keyboard that a) works with Wayland AND works on non-kde apps. Meaning that I can use the tablet mode for things like Kate, or the file manager or Konsole, but not my office app or Gimp or Scribus.

I know the Manjaro Gnome variant has this sortedin its built in keyboard, but using gnome makes me lose all love of computers and leaves me dead inside, so that ain’t happening.

So my question is this, and perhaps no one can answer it, does TuxedoOS, which uses KDE, have it sorted since they use it on their own devices?

3-in-1? This is at best a 1.5-in-1. A laptop, and an inconvenient tablet.

I’m aware 2-in-1 has been the marketing term for these devices for a while, but where they got “3”, I’ll never know.

starting at 1189 EUR (or about $1000 USD for customers outside Europe)

    Probably the other way around.

Under the hood, the TUXEDO InfinityFlex 14 is powered by an Intel Core i5-1335U processor with 10 cores and a TDP of 15 watts

Was expecting and AMD processor. Aren’t they more efficient even at lower TDP?
