Good morning, fellow sobernauts, IWNDWYT 😁!

We may be anonymous strangers on the internet, but we have one thing in common. We may be a world apart, but we’re here together!

Welcome to the 24 hour pledge! I’m pledging myself to not drinking today, and invite you to do the same.

Maybe you’re new to c/stop drinking and have a hard time deciding what to do next. Maybe you’re like me and feel you need a daily commitment or maybe you’ve been sober for a long time and want to inspire others.

It doesn’t matter if you’re still hung over from a three day bender or been sober for years, if you just woke up or have already completed a sober day. For the next 24 hours, let’s not drink alcohol!

Went to a wedding. Gave a toast to the bride and groom with sparking apple juice. (1 week down. 33 to go)

Nice. Just curious what happens at 33 weeks?

I keep setting new goals for myself like 1 week, 1 month, 1 quarter, 1 half year, etc. But personally I think I’m finally reckoning with the feeling that I just don’t drink anymore, so maybe I’ll just stop counting…

      Pardon the personal tangent.

Computer upgrade. An average bottle of alcohol is $50, so if i save that money every week, i can treat myself then.

Ohhh I like your thinking. People should treat themselves more often

Reminds me of how I felt like I’d got a raise or something when I quit smoking, and again with the drinking.

Two years ago today, I decided that alcohol wasn’t serving me and making things in my life more difficult. I’ve experienced many ups and downs in the past two years. I’ve experienced them all fully present and I’m so grateful. Every day starts with a single commitment, and the days just add up. IWNDWYT.

Sure I’m down. Lovely cool grey Saturday over here - perfect for not drinking.
