I noticed on my new account here that lemmy.one and sh.itjust.works are not accessible. I am curious to when/if federation occurs.

Yeah, I’d love to see the instance more federated as well.
Federation in general is working. If a particular community you want to access doesn’t show up, you may need to copy the URL of that community and paste it into the search. It will likely say “no results”, but if you wait a few seconds a link to the community on this instance should show up.
