I’ve been a #Firefox user FOREVER. But with the direction of the recent Mozilla leadership, plus their treatment of @[email protected] has pushed mo over to moving to @[email protected]
Sad, sad day. But they crossed enough lines that it’s time. And @[email protected] has been a strong advocate for the fediverse and the open web.
Vivaldi is not free software, and therefore not a suitable alternative to Firefox. LibreWolf seems fine.
@[email protected] @[email protected] @[email protected] @[email protected] Welcome over. I’m loving Vivaldi once I tweaked the UI to my liking.
@[email protected] @[email protected] @[email protected] @[email protected] I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised performance wise.

Sigh… I’m afraid you might be right.
@[email protected] @[email protected] @[email protected] @[email protected] same, already a few years ago… Even tho I still have Firefox in some machines but my daily is definitely Vivaldi both mobile & desktop
Not coming back.If I need a drastically private session I’ll use @[email protected] browser

Yeah. I moved to vivaldi too. So far so good@[email protected] @[email protected] @[email protected] @[email protected] @[email protected] I recently moved from Firefox (after 20-odd years) to Vivaldi for the same reasons.

Yeah, I’ve moved over to Waterfox, and it seems to be pretty good so far. Lots of privacy and ad-blocking right out of the box.
@jpthuot03 @tchambers @stevetex @Vivaldi @jon Waterfox is great for legacy compatibility, especially if you need to run an old flash site. It lacks some modern features though.

I don’t know enough to know enough, it would seem. I just looked at a list of 'best open source alternatives to Firefox" and picked the top one.
Sell me on Vivaldi, then, if you have a moment. Does it handle add-ons/extensions? I use Proton suite of everything, so the Pass extension would be most important.
I’m using Brave on my android now.
@jpthuot03 @mike @tchambers @stevetex @Vivaldi @jon vivaldi is not opensource though 🤔
