I’d recommend it. Well. Maybe not all of TCW, but rebels was actually pretty good.
A lot of the early TCW was just a kids serial (and barely serial at that). It’s okay as far as that goes - and it does have things for adults and hits hard on the nature of war and such.
I eventually enjoyed clone wars, but the initial movie turned me completely off. Several friends pushed me to give it another shot - just skip any episodes that feel real side-adventure (looking at you, droid only episodes).
I tried watching tcw and hated how the chronology was so all over the place. I also hated how it was one great episode followed by a bunch of filler episodes
All of The Clone Wars is the main filler between 2&3.
Not sure if there’s much between 3&4. I have trouble keeping the whole time line in my mind since the newer show releases jump around so much.
I haven’t watched either. I’m still watching Ahsoka, but I suspect that those who’ve watched everything are getting a lot more out of it than I am (still enjoy though, mostly)
I’ve found AD_edits on youtube to be helpful to watch after an episode - their recent videos re-edit some live-action with some animation to provide more context.
Gdi, so does this mean I finally need to sit down with my wife and watch both series before the live action Ashoka?
Or is there a shorter watch list?

There’s gotta be some essential episode watch list (like Let’s Watch Star Trek).

Is there a similar list (or same?) for if I want to fill in the spaces between the core films Ep2 -> Ep3, and Ep3 -> Ep4?
