Putin might be all that, but he also believed every lie fed to him by almost everyone about the state of Russia’s military, economy, and who knows what else. All that ex-KGB training didn’t help him when his “special operation” got stuck in a convoy without fuel, trucks with busted tires, no comms, self-jammed air support, exploding tanks with crews drinking the coolant… come on, you have to admit he’s a bit of a “head clown”.
Honestly not even close. He’s been playing the heaviest games of brutal politics for decades, an evil man playing against (and in alliance with) extremely powerful forces, very high stakes, extreme pressures. America is the most powerful nation in the world, maybe in all of history, and they see Russia as their arch nemesis.
A clown would have absolutely collapsed a long time ago. A clown couldn’t hold onto power like that. Trump is a clown. Putin might be a psychopath, megalomaniac, power-hungry douchebag, mass murderer. But he’s definitely not a clown.
What you really mean is he’s a bad person. And therefore “any insult applies, even if it makes no sense.” And if I clarify the kind of bad person he is, you treat that like a defense.
