Turning employees into cops is probably not a great idea
It’s probably not just catching customers as they pass by shoplifting stuff… it’s likely so the employees themselves will have a harder time lifting stuff.
Employee has to turn it on.
The article said it’s mainly because employees have been attacked.
Yeah… I should really get better about posting before I read the article…
I’m all fairness that’s the next step. It’s the story of boiling the frog.
totally not because employees with knowledge of the store layout, receiving and stocking schedules, policies and procedures, employees and their schedules… would totally never in a million years think about ‘supplementing’ their shitty pay.
Since the employee would have to turn it on, they’d just turn it off if they wanted to steal.
If they had to have them on all the time. I agree it’d be for employee theft
I’m also worried what someone will do when they realize they’ve been caught doing something. Some might turn on the person with the camera. At a certain point, you’re putting your employees into physical risk
As if customer service jobs didn’t suck enough
“According to data from investment bank UBS, food prices at Woolworths and Coles increased at an average of 9.2% over the three months to December 2022, jumping from an average of 8.2% in the September quarter.”
“Supermarket giants Coles and Woolworths recorded profits in excess of $1 billion with a nearly 5 per cent increase on the previous year.”
I 100% do not support people shoplifting but they are not the only ones guilty of theft.
I 100% do not support people shoplifting but they are not the only ones guilty of theft.
So why do you not support them? The corpo execs don’t need a billion dollars but people do need to eat.
‘We don’t want any suggestion we are turning employees into security cameras’
Except that’s exactly what you are doing.
How can they say that with a straight face.
How can they say that with a straight face.
They know they can get away with it. What no repercussions does to a mf
