    It’s probably not just catching customers as they pass by shoplifting stuff… it’s likely so the employees themselves will have a harder time lifting stuff.

      Employee has to turn it on.

      The article said it’s mainly because employees have been attacked.

        totally not because employees with knowledge of the store layout, receiving and stocking schedules, policies and procedures, employees and their schedules… would totally never in a million years think about ‘supplementing’ their shitty pay.

          Since the employee would have to turn it on, they’d just turn it off if they wanted to steal.

          If they had to have them on all the time. I agree it’d be for employee theft

      I’m also worried what someone will do when they realize they’ve been caught doing something. Some might turn on the person with the camera. At a certain point, you’re putting your employees into physical risk
