Fans customized the Wicked movie poster to more closely match the original Broadway poster.
Original Broadway Poster:
Movie poster:
Some fans, disappointed by the poster, altered it to be closer to the original, moving Grande’s hand and lowering the brim of Erivo’s hat to cover her eyes. The edits prompted Erivo to respond. “This is the wildest, most offensive thing I have seen
“None of this is funny. None of it is cute. It degrades me. It degrades us,” Erivo continued. “The original poster is an ILLUSTRATION. I am a real life human being, who chose to look right down the barrel of the camera to you, the viewer… because, without words we communicate with our eyes.”
So, this seems like a completely reasonable reaction to fans making fan content.
'…means nothing to me."
I can tell by how invested you are in this post that you don’t care at all.
“…if it’s shameful to not empathize with someone…”
It’s not shameful to “not empathize with someone”, you’re the one that made that up.
it is shameful for you to invalidate someone’s feelings; that dehumanizes them.
I’m not invested in anything other than to point out your outrage is just pissing in the wind here. And I don’t care what you think so telling me I’m shameful means nothing to me.
my outrage?
i was not feeling any outrage, you might want to pat your pockets for a more local source of indignant frustration.
“I’m not interested…And I don’t care what you think”
You are so “not invested” and “don’t care what [i] think” so much that you’re jumping into a 2-day old post to offer up your ideas on the matter to me specifically.
I mean, it’s a minute of my day to tell you simply that you shaking your fist at people who don’t share your outrage is pointless. I’m really not invested other than to keep engaging you to point out how silly this is. Up to you when you want to stop.
any outrage you’re feeling is your own.
I’m not “shaking my fist”, I’m pointing out that people are objectively wrong about what Cynthia has said, and that saying her feelings are not valid is dehumanizing.
treating her as a person seems to make you people very upset.
“I’m really not invested ither than…”
restarting an old post to declare your devotion to relitigating how one person doesn’t deserve to have feelings or express themselves, but other people do.
"… point out how silly this is.*
The thread you took the time to start? I agree.
I didn’t start this thread, FYI.
Also, I disagree with your premise that anything about this is dehumanizing. Along with that, you’re some rando on the Internet so your condemnation means nothing to me, and likely nothing to anyone else.
Not sure why you keep accusing me of things. I already told you I’m here to have meaningless exchanges with you and nothing else. We can keep going all you’d like.
" I disagree with your premise that anything about this is dehumanizing."
phew, good thing that’s not my premise.
“you’re some rando on the Internet”
… says you, the rando on the internet.
“your condemnation means nothing to me, and likely nothing to anyone else.”
oh, sure, that’s where the energy comes from for dozens of vitriolic commenters to furiously scribble all of these responses for 48 hours straight so far.
from how much none of you care.
“I’m here to have meaningless exchanges with you and nothing else.”
then I wonder why you keep declaring strong, consistent opinions based on personal values?
“meaningless exchanges”
you’re vehemently expressing your personal feelings and ideas in an extended conversation that you are personally perpetuating.
seems pretty meaningful to you.
Vehemently expressing opinions 😆. I love it. You just keep on sending me these walls of text about how I’m really, deep down, invested in this topic and conversation. Ahh, never change, you crazy rascal!
you’re cowering behind false quotations again.
look how dedicated you are at proving you don’t care.
“I’m really, deep down, invested in this topic”
I can tell, sport.
