I played WoT for literal years without ever getting actually good at it. A while ago, I decided to give World of Warships a go then. Out of a general affinity for Japan and because I once saw a documentary about the Yamato, I decided to head for the Japanese Battleship line.

After a surprisingly decent first few battles, I received my first shock when I fought my first lvl 5 battle in the Kongō. As more experienced players know, and I quickly learned, that´s where the matchmaking kicks you out of the protected zone and into “real battles” with subs and carriers and all.

Where I got absolutely dunked on…AT FIRST! After I read up on PROPER Battleship gameplay, watched some videos and asked around a bit, I finally start to get it. And now that I know where and how to play my Kongō, it´s starting to feel quite a bit better. I get kills, do damage and, most importantly, win battles again! Although I still never even see those pesky subs that keep sniping me from beyond my charge range.

Anyway, glad someone made this community here, so this is my contribution to filling it with a bit of life.

I hadn’t played WoT a lot but never tried WoWS because I didn’t like WoT years ago. Problem for me was mechanics. Game was just too much about positioning and stuff, I felt like everyone knows something on each map that I don’t and that felt frustrating. Light tanks were fun tho. WoWS is much easier and interesting for me in comparison because You’re not tied to some boring gameplay with staying in bushes and till you not breaking few rules you can do what you want. Despite the fact that ships feels slower than tanks game is more dynamic.

That’s why I loved WoTB too before it’s decline. Sad to see that WoWS is also in the state of decline.
