Between Exxon, Shell, Chevron, Valero, and QuikTrip, which is the least evil? I’ve been using Chevron because of the discounts with using their app (and Apple pay integration) as well as the additives that they supposedly have by default in their fuels. I know Exxon and Shell have well known controversies. I don’t have a Costco membership. I do live where HEB gas stations exist, but they don’t have any discount stuff like the big companies.
There is no ethical consumption under crony capitalism. You’re gonna have to turn a blind eye at the pump if you continue using a petroleum powered vehicle.
I’m aware of that, that’s why I’m asking which one is the LEAST evil relative to its counterparts. I’m trying my best to move on from an ICE vehicle, but until then the least I can do is be picky with what brand of fuel I use and to use it as sparingly as possible (I already only drive 5000 miles a year).
Am I missing something here? The first 4 in your list are petroleum refiners and separately gas stations with the same names. Most gas stations are independently operated businesses under franchise agreements with a particular brand. Yes they are required to use fuel from their own brand. QT is just a convenience store that also sells fuel and isnt in the refining business.

None really. Pick your poison.

None. They’re all evil.
And it’s good you’re trying. That’s all we can really do.
And buying a Tesla supports Elon Musk, so that isn’t great either.
Yeah, public transit is the ideal transit anyway.
