Baffling. We already rejected this guy once when he had less baggage. His first term was objectively terrible.

So, I guess America has kings now, because Trump will never see another day in court for his crimes, and he’s not going to prison.

I just don’t have the strength anymore. I’m teetering on the brink of agreeing with the accelerationists and just letting it happen. The faster Trump ruins the country, the sooner we can rebuild it while we still have time to enjoy it.

Only that rarely what happens. Things just stay broken and don’t magically reassemble better.

Best mantra is “evolution not revolution”.

That may be the better mantra, but sometimes, you just gotta… Viva la revolution! …to get anything fucking fixed.

Most of human history is not rule of law democracy. It is rare and precious. Smash it up at your peril.

The rich and powerful have been immune for a long time, even if they face any punishments its miniscule fines and slaps on the wrist, usually far beyond when the crime actual happens, when a peasant would be just locked away immediately. its just mask off now.

It’s not a choice of letting him ruin the country…they got the trifecta with this election.

Progressives always win in the long run. The more years you look at in history, the clearer that becomes. The slowness and the backslides are often excruciating though.

Sure, but look at Germany (where I’m from) the Nazis really threw the social and cultural development back for several decades to come. And created the basis for a conservative narrow mindset that is very present today. I realize that our current government is probably one of the most progressive I will ever experience in my life and that is pretty depressing because my ideas for a better society are hardly supported by their politics.

I’m so tired. I just don’t have the energy to fight any more, there doesn’t seem to be any point. At this point I’m probably just going to hold out until some NATO-esque entity invades/occupies us and sets us straight again.
