Geekerwan has published the CPU and GPU Power efficiency curves for the Tensor G4 SoC on his website. It is unlikely there will be a video review on this chip though.

CPU

In Geekbench 6 Multicore, the efficiency curve of the Tensor G4 CPU is comparable to the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, a flagship Qualcomm chip from 2022.

Compared to the it’s predecessor the Tensor G3, it can be said that the CPU efficiency curve is largely a side grade. G4 is better at the lower end of the curve, but G3 is better in the middle, and they are both about on par at the top.

GPU

In 3DMark Steel Nomad Light, the efficiency curve of the Tensor G4’s GPU is comparable to that of the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, a flagship chip released in 2022.

In GFXBench, it’s comparable to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, and the Kirin 9020!

Compared to the it’s predecessor the Tensor G3, it can be said that the GPU power efficiency curve is also mostly a sidegrade.

The Samsung SF4P process node cannot take the blame for this, because the Exynos 2400 SoC made on this same node is significantly better. It looks like Google’s mobile SoC design capabilities are not as good as it’s peers (Qualcomm, Mediatek, Apple…).
