I’ve been digging hard on this project, and let me tell you It’s hard to follow so many things happening.
But i’d like to share what it has already accomplished

Barry Silbert has just created a new validator Called Yuma DCG, he’s currently offering Staking APR of 17% which you don’t have to lock for period of time and they drop at the end of each day.
His new found company Yuma is going to validate the work of miners in many subnets:
SN4: Targon Powers Sybil
SN28: S&P500 Oracle
Sn19: Powering Corcel app
And many more
What it does?
Uses incentives to improve AI models. That’s it. Sounds simple but … it isn’t.
The purpose of bittensor is to allow companies or regular individuals to open a subnet that focuses on solving something with AI. Then let the Miners submit the Model & weights, train it & inference to earn TAO as rewards for each query. Validators will regularly check their work and decide which miners are performing well. Thus they also earn tao.
With this in mind they have gathered a decent amount of AI devs ready to Mine tao, and while doing it improving each Subnet output. Making the AI better.
I’ve been following this project for a year and let me tell you I’ve noticed many subnets and the platforms using them improving a lot. Bettensor went from hit scores of 50% to 70%. Corcel & subnet19 answers greatly improved for regular user queries & coding.
Bitmind started this summer at predicting AI images amd greatly improved in matter of weeks.
I see why Barry Silbert is keen on shifting his company interest to AI. He prob saw the potential to scale and offer great services on top of this structure.
Right now I see the founders & subnet owners going to big AI events talking to companies about opening their own subnets to solve problems with AI.
Ai is just getting started, and only stock investors have shifted to it, crypto is lagging in this, which makes a great opportunity thus why i shifted to AI in crypto as well
