Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro have a new main camera sensor, but the company won't say what the exact model is.

Can someone explain why this is such a big deal to people? Everyone on the Pixel subreddit was up in arms about the sensor not being GN2.

But I have no idea why it matters so much, so if someone could explain, that would be great.
