Hello! My boyfriend and I are planning to take a long trip next year as it will be our last chance to do so in a while. We originally booked and planned for a Greece/Italy trip but underestimated how Jubilee would affect our stay.
We are now re-considering as we have heard of negative experiences from Asian travelers about the racism they had faced during travel, and the concern with an uptick of travelers for Jubilee.
We want our trip to be more quiet and relaxing rather than fighting for our lives the entire time. We have been to Japan but would love to go back for a longer period and explore other areas outside of Tokyo. Our last time in Japan was quite short and we feel regretful for a lot of things that we couldn’t do.
We already booked everything for our Greece/Italy but since we are going in end of March to mid April we are still eligible for a refund. We are planning to go to Athens, Bologna, Florence, Sorrento, and Rome.
What would you do in our shoes? Should we pivot and explore Japan or keep our Greece/Italy trip?
